Kai laughed at Bren, keeping his distance from the water.
"You seem pretty happy for being second-last."
"Kai, I'm going to kill you."
Sito was between the two of them in an instant, pulling a towel from her pack and tossing it at Bren.
"Bren, you shouldn't let him distract you. Kai, that's enough with your tricks."
"Yes, Miss." Bren said. The fight went out of his eyes, and he toweled off. Miku, Kai noted irritably, went over to Bren's boat to bring up the keel and stow the sail.
"Dale. I'm Dale here." She repeated.
"You're just lucky you had Faye here to pull you out of the drink when you went over, Bren." Kai chided.
"What about making your own luck?" Sito said pointedly.
He just raised an eyebrow.
"Well, Kai," she continued, with a dangerous glint in her eye, "I'm sure you wouldn't mind heading back out to help Kevin, since you did win on sailing prowess."
"Seriously? Isn't that something you're supposed to do?"
